Oh, Father, I repent for the sins of this nation, for the sins of the Church and for my own sins. I repent that this nation has turned its back on you, has rejected you and all you stand for. Forgive us, Father! I repent for the Church that has stood by mute and allowed your sheep to be led to the slaughter and allowed all this evil to happen. I repent that the sheep aren't crying out, I repent that the pulpits are silent. I repent that we've stood by without saying a word while prayer was taken out of our schools and the evil one allowed in. I repent that we stood silently by while millions of babies are murdered, their lives taken by the very ones who should be protecting them. I repent that we've allowed sin to enter into our churches and stand behind the pulpits. We've rejected the sanctity and holiness of marriage, and in fact, have thrown holiness out the window. Lord, we need a cleansing...from the White House to the Church House and from the pulpit to the pews. We've somewhere along the line lost the meaning of the gospel and in the process have lost you. We seem to have forgotten the commandment that we are to love one another. You who can not look on sin has removed your hand of protection from us and has torn down the hedge that has kept the enemy at bay. I see now that he has taken over this country that I love and Lord...I WANT IT BACK! Please I come to you in all humbleness and plead with you with a repentant heart and tears streaming down my face please restore to us the years that we've allowed the locust and cankerworm to devour. Restore us back to the 'front porch' days. Where neighbors respected neighbors and their property. Where brothers weren't killing brothers for the color of their skin. Where authority was recognized, honored and obeyed. Forgive us our sins Lord and let us begin again. Oh God, my heart and spirit are grieved and if my heart and spirit are grieved I can only imagine how yours is. I weep over the sins of this country and most especially the sins of your Church. Forgive us, Lord. Shut not your ears to my cry. Hear my cry and forgive us Lord and heal our land...in Jesus' name, I pray....amen and amen.
He was four days late but right on time.
