View MoreI think that the question is a bit more complicated than how you present it. A problem lies in the use of "lucifer" as the name of the Dragon. This is a late introduction, only appearing for the first time (that I know of) in the Latin Vulgate. Because of Rev 12:9 and 20:2, many Christians have no problems using multiple name for the Dragon, including Lucifer (see Steven Dunn's first response above) but, up through at least the Fourth Century, "Lucifer", the Light-Bearer / Morning Star was a name often applied to the Christ. This is based on Rev 22:16. The passage in Isa (14:12-15), describing the fall of Helel ben Sahar but Helel is is only translated as "Lucifer" in the Vulgate and only because it was understood to mean Venus, the morning star (eosphoros in the Septuagint). Now, if you accept this as your source for the Dragon (which I also think is dubious), notice that this passage describes only a fall of Helel to Sheol. It mentions nothing of Helel rising up from Sheol. In addition, notice that, in Isa 14:16, God very clearly says of Helel, "Is this the man ('iysh) who made the world tremble?". God himself calls Helel a man, not one of the 'elohim. On the other hand, by Revelation, the Dragon has been cast down and bound in the Pit so there is a "cast down" story to the Dragon. Unfortunately, it is not clear what that story was. It is possible that the writer of Revelation was referring to the Helel story in Isaiah or to the cherubim story in Ezekiel but it is not clear. It is more likely (in my opinion) that it refers to Isa 27:1 and, through that, to Psa 74. Although Psa 74 does not explicitly state that Leviathan survived the battle with God at the creation of the universe, there seems to have been an understanding that the battle of creation was replayed, on a much smaller scale, every year during flood season. God's hooking of Leviathan in Job 41:1-2 may hint at an extra-biblical understanding of Leviathan being hooked or chained in Sheol at the bottom of the Sea. This seems to have been taken up in Isa 27:1, where Isaiah seems to be claiming that Leviathan will rise up again (and again). As for the fall of Satan, that is an even more complicated question and one that I won't address, here. So, if you're looking for when Lucifer fell, that depends on which Lucifer and if the name is even a legitimate reference to the Dragon. If you looking for when the Dragon of Revelation fell and was bound in the Pit, then I would say at the beginning of the creation of the universe.

Just to clarify and distinguish from Mr. Dunn's day 6 theory: I am saying that God's battle against Leviathan was reflected (in a very abstract fashion) in Gen 1:2-6 when the Ruach went across the Deep (Tehom < Tiamat = Leviathan) and God used Leviathan's ribcage to separate the waters.
