In fact, there are MANY things that the Church should be teaching today as well as MANY things they should not be teaching. There are a few problems. For one, the amount of outright false and even hellish doctrine in the churches today is really quiet astonishing. But that should come as no surprise. Rather than being led by the Holy Spirit, most people approach the scriptures with man's wisdom and man's logic, which is opposed to the Word of God in the first place. In other words, they use what is opposed to the Word of God in order to INTERPRET the Word of God. If the Holy Spirit were actually present in the churches, there would be no divisions --- no denominations (and I include the non-denominational denominations in this as well). John 3:8 says: "The wind blows where it will, and you hear the sound of it thereof, but can not tell from whence it comes and where it goes. So is everyone that is born of the Spirit." Unfortunately, that doesn't even sound remotely similar to the so-called Church today. Another problem is that most pastors have a degree that they received at some Bible college --- as opposed to being taught by the Holy Spirit. All a Bible college degree means is that you now have the next SEVERAL years, if not decades, of deprogramming by the Holy Spirit to go through. And finally, I would suggest that a HUGE problem is the fact that the churches are all 501-c-3 --- which, in effect, means that the government owns you. And this means that there are some things that the government wants you to teach --- especially anything favorable to Zionism --- as well as things that the government does not want you to teach. These things are all great curses in the Church and just should not be. In the past 44 years since I came to the Lord, I never really had a favorite preacher that I listen to. I always found that the more popular they are, the more corrupt they are --- or at least, there would always be some fatal flaw about them. So as a rule, I generally don't listen to preachers. Nevertheless, in the past year, I found a wonderful teacher who has a ton of videos on YouTube. Once I started listening to this guy, I was absolutely stunned by what I was hearing. I mean, there are a few minor points that I can disagree with him on, but otherwise, he's like a modern day Paul, in my opinion. I've never heard anything so solid. His name is Zac Poonen. He's from India, of all places. In fact, I have a page here on Savior Connect where I feature him called simply Zac Poonen Sermons. I invite you to go there and check him out.
