As a reminder, or for new readers, here is how we eat: Pete is pescatarian 90% of the time. When he does eat meat (1-2x/mo.), it is organic and very lean, and never pork or poultry; the fish or seafood he eats (1-2x/wk.) is wild-caught. Most of what he eats is plant-based and organic/non-GMO. These are changes we made when he was diagnosed. His type of cancer thrives on certain foods that he doesn't eat now. He also eats a can of organic tomato paste daily, usually within a soup or a sauce, and ...

Today's reading from the Advent Calendar that I am following is John 8:34-35 - Jesus answered them,  “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who practices sin is a slave to sin. The slave does not remain in the house forever, the son remains forever." ...

First, I am sharing below an Advent calendar for daily Scripture readings; I downloaded this from Tyndale.com. And yes, I know it started on Nov. 28, but I'm late to the party. Use it or not, but this is what I will be using. Today's reading is John 8:12 - Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” Second, here are links to the 2 Advent readings for today, for those who are following along...

On Nov. 28, the first day of Advent, I started reading and learning about it. By the next day my heart was speaking what I wrote about here yesterday and I was reading devotionals and other Advent readings. Today I have decided on two devotionals I will follow through the season. These are just my daily starting point in my daily reading in addition to the further immersion in my search to understand God's love for me, and I will continue to share what I am doing each day for those who may want ...

"The celebration of Advent is possible only to those who are troubled in soul, who know themselves to be poor and imperfect, and who look forward to something greater to come." ~ Dietrich Bonhoeffer So in reading Keachfan's blog post yesterday I realized that there is a whole lot more to Advent than I had realized. Though I've been following Christ for 45 years I haven't been schooled in this period leading up to Christmas as I have in other things. So this year my mission is to dedicate ...

Today we went to Casey and Bill’s again, they had a 2nd turkey that needed to be cooked this weekend so they invited us to come and partake with them. (Bill made Pete an amazing heap of walleye and fried mushrooms since he can’t eat poultry.) What a great time we had, as always. Besides us and Casey’s family her BFF Sarah was there. Sarah is darling and it’s always great to see her too! I took some photos which I’ll share below. The photos above are the river; I took them this morning from my wi...
