I am the type of person who doesn’t like change.

I function best when I stick to my daily routine.

For the most part, I get up, eat, and go to bed at the same time every day.

It brings consistency to my schedule, and I know what to expect.

Most of our lives are filled with uncertainty because we control so little around us.

Thankfully, we know what we can expect from God. He gives us stability.

Through life’s ups and downs, we can trust in God’s character.

All His attributes are perfect; therefore, His work in us is for the best.

Malachi 3:6a (NKJV) “For I am the Lord, I do not change.”

Here are just a few of God’s unchanging characteristics according to the scriptures.

He is All-Powerful

No one has any power equal to or over God.

Job 42:1-2 (NASB 1995) “Then Job answered the LORD and said, ‘I know that You can do all things, And that no purpose of Yours can be thwarted.’”

He is Just

God is always fair. His morals and ethics are flawless.

Deut. 32:4 (NASB 1995) “The Rock! His work is perfect, For all His ways are just; A God of faithfulness and without injustice, Righteous and upright is He.”

He cannot think like a human who is guided by emotions. He never plays favorites.

He is Holy

The Hebrew word for holy means to be set apart. He has no other equal.

1 Samuel 2:2a (NKJV) “No one is holy like the Lord, For there is none besides You,”

He is sinless, righteous, and blameless in the purest sense.

He is Righteous

The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines righteous as “morally right.”

We can trust God’s plan is always perfect. Even if we do not understand why He allows things to happen, we can trust it is best (see Romans 8:38).

This world is in constant change. People change their minds, their priorities, and their feelings. It can be frustrating at times.

It’s reassuring to know the character of God will never change.

Hebrews 13:8 (NKJV) “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”
