We didn't have internet for most of the day today, sorry this is so late! I was able to get online and do a few things on my phone but everything for my website (from which I copy to Savior Connect) is on my laptop, so...sorry it's late. There have been many memes and posts showing a certain man - a mere human, with faults, who makes mistakes and errors in judgement - as a king and the only one who can save the USA from all of the evil that prevails. Friends, there is only one King Who ca...

First, happy Mother's Day to every mom who knows love better than any other human can. We have been equipped in ways that are unique and, some have said, bring us closer to knowing our own Creator's heart than we would have thought possible, for we have the most amazing part in the miracle of creating life, otherwise known only to God Himself! Mother's Day certainly celebrates all that mothers do, from the nurturing and protecting our babies in the earliest days of their lives until we go...

This week I've been struggling health-wise, and have had to limit my time on my laptop/phone/TV and whatever, so I haven't shared my blogs her as I usually do. IF you are interested in catching up, I will place the links from the original posts below. I will try to go back to publishing them here as usual tomorrow, depending on my eyes. Regardless of the church size, there is one glaring similarity between a lot of churches I see. In my travels with music, I have visited numerous churches. A long lasting result of these visits is that I stay connected with different ministries by watching their live stream services. ...

So we’ve gone through Lent…Good Friday…Resurrection Sunday…for what? What is different after all of that? Well… Our lives can be made new. We can have salvation in Him. Our hearts can be changed. We can go to the Father in Jesus’ name. Death has been swallowed up in victory. In short, what is different, is EVERYTHING! ...

Whether you realize it or not, the audience is a reflection of us onstage. When you’re performing or leading worship and you look out at the people, what do you see? Are they fully present with you? Are they singing their hearts out? Or does there seem to be a disconnect somewhere? ...

Palm Sunday. Not the anniversary, rather the celebration. As I was growing up it was a celebratory Mass, and we took our palms home and displayed them on the wall behind the crucifix (that also contained a small vial of holy water) in the round-ish hallway outside the bedrooms. As such it was a reminder for the rest of the year, to me, of how beloved and praised Jesus was...until the crowd turned on Him and demanded the cruelest form of death. But for today, He was loved and celebrated by...

Today I am going to take a break from the Lenten posts, somehow I think I got my timing wrong but no matter, it is a good day to share the Lord's Words to us about the lives we live in Him, as we continue on toward the most important celebration in Christendom. Paul concludes his first letter to the believers in Thessalonica thus: ...

(This post is a day late due to illness.) Today is the fourth Sunday within Lent. The first Sunday my Supernal Sunday post was about sin and sinners, which is ALL of us; the next Sunday I shared memes about the effects of sin in the world and in our relationship to God. Last week's post is about the wrath of God toward sin and sinners - yes, toward us. And then today we see a glimmer of hope. God loves us so much that He didn't leave us in that state, in sin, and under His terrible wrath!...

Today is the third Sunday within Lent. The first Sunday my Supernal Sunday post was about sin and sinners, which is ALL of us; last Sunday I shared memes about the effects of sin in the world and in our relationship to God. Today's post is about the wrath of God toward sin and sinners - yes, toward us. We can't understand why Jesus had to come and endure what He did without understanding the totality of God's wrath against sin and those who live it. This week I am sharing Rich Maffeo's po...

Today is the second Sunday within Lent. Last Sunday my Supernal Sunday was about sin and sinners, which is ALL of us. Today’s post shares memes about the effects of sin in the world and in our relationship to God. I am not following any of the schedules that certain denominations use, so these postings, which are simply an effort to bring us clearer meaning of who we are, who Jesus is, and why the resurrection is so important. This is why, if your denomination follows a certain schedule of servi...

First: Rich Maffeo's post for the first Sunday amid Lent is HERE, if you wish to join me in being edified, moved, and convicted by it. He has had some fantastic posts on his blog this week, I hope that you can read some - or all! - of them. They are always time well-spent! Second: I wrote about the start of Lent last week, and have planned a series of Supernal Sunday posts that will share, topically and in a series, the meaning of this entire season of Lent leading up to the day we celebr...

Lent begins this week on Wednesday and though many Christians don't practice it, many do. Growing up Catholic I practiced the Lent tradition as it was done at the time, as a child, having strict rules to follow without a clear understanding of the purpose. As an adult I use it as a tool to draw nearer to God though various spiritual disciplines and extra study and prayer, in preparation for the joyous celebration of the resurrection. As part this preparation I will be following - and sharing - L...

I guess today's thoughts have been centered around my doctor's visit yesterday. I got a shiny new diagnosis and another med to take, along with a fistful of orders for further tests and even therapy! So while I don't think my personal health and medical issues are something I want to share with the world, I will share enough that my thoughts about it all will make sense. Starting from the end and working my way backwards. But first, I went in for this recheck after seeing her a few months...

One of the things I like about memes is that they provide enough of a thought - or in this case, enough of the Word - to ignite the desire to find out more. I always see a verse or other small portion of Scripture as a starting point rather than an end in itself, as any portion taken out of context can be misleading at best. This week as I saved Scripture portions I saw that Isaiah was quite prominent; whether that was the Lord putting these verses in my path or whether these verses had greater ...

I have done occasional Supernal Sunday posts in the past, but will start making it a regular feature now. It started as a way to share my thoughts on spiritual things, then I started creating inspirational meme galleries; I anticipate that these are the two formats I will continue to use, but as time goes on we'll see how that works out. I don't make resolutions on any certain calendar date...after all, every single day is the beginning of another year. But I thought it would be a good ti...

The hope God has given you, don't let anyone take it from you. Keep it secretly in your heart, protect it from skeptics, from pessimists, nourish it with your dreams, until the day it is revealed. Fall in love with God first and He will give you the perfect person for you at the most opportune time. Christian love manifests itself in patience to cover faults and ignore offenses....

Now there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon, and this man was righteous and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him. And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord's Christ. And he came in the Spirit into the temple, and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him according to the custom of the Law, he took him up in his arms and blessed God and said, “Lord, now y...

Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls. Concerning this salvation, the prophets who prophesied about the grace that was to be yours searched and inquired carefully, inquiring what person or time the Spirit of Christ in them was indicating when he predicted the sufferings of Christ and the subsequent glories. It ...
