Lent begins this week on Wednesday and though many Christians don't practice it, many do. Growing up Catholic I practiced the Lent tradition as it was done at the time, as a child, having strict rules to follow without a clear understanding of the purpose. One of the things I like about memes is that they provide enough of a thought - or in this case, enough of the Word - to ignite the desire to find out more. I always see a verse or other small portion of Scripture as a starting point rather than an end in itself, as any portion taken out of context can be misleading at best.
