View MoreTHE ANTICHRIST There is so much theory out there about who the antichrist is. As a result, for years, people have tried to figure out who this "man of sin" would be. So, in order for people to try and figure this out, they take their eyes off of the Bible and look elsewhere for truth. That's why they've never found it. But when we read the scriptures and focus on what it ALONE says, then God's word teaches us everything we need to know about who the antichrist is. And it isn't the pope or the president, or a Republican or a Democrat, or any world leader, or even any human being. The antichrist is Satan. How can we be sure? Because everything we read in the scriptures has to fit with the description of the antichrist, including this one. 1 John 4:3 (KJV) 3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of ANTICHRIST, whereof ye have heard that it SHOULD COME; and EVEN NOW ALREADY is it in the world. The letter of 1 John was written about 2,000 years ago, and states that not only was the antichrist coming, but that he was ALREADY in the world. Thus ruling out the possibility of the antichrist being any human being. BUT ISN'T THE ANTICHRIST CALLED THE MAN OF SIN? DOESN'T THE WORD "MAN" PROVE THAT IT MUST BE A HUMAN BEING? Again, when we stay with the only source of truth to guide us, the Bible, then God shows us that Satan is indeed called a "man". Isaiah 14:12-16 (KJV) 12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! 13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: 14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. 15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit. 16 They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, IS THIS THE MAN that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms; Therefore, since God is the one who warned us about the "man of sin", God is the only one who can define what he meant by using the word "man" to describe the antichrist, and he uses the word "man of sin" to describe Satan himself. Don't let people try to steer you away from the scriptures and focus on politics or earthly churches or anything else that takes your eyes away from the scriptures for truth. God provides every answer he wants us to have concerning his word, right in the same place, the word of God.

Iâ€™ve heard people quote a verse from the Bible which states that Godâ€™s people can perish for lack of knowledge. To them it means that if Godâ€™s people donâ€™t understand something that God wants them to know, that they can miss out on earthly blessings that God has prepared for them, and as a result, die much sooner than God would have wanted. But letâ€™s take a look at the verse in question. Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed (perish) for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children. The context of the book of Hosea deals with Godâ€™s anger against the nation of Israel in departing from following the commandments of the Lord and going after other gods. Hosea 1:1 The word of the Lord that came unto Hosea, the son of Beeri, in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash, king of Israel. 2 The beginning of the word of the Lord by Hosea. And the Lord said to Hosea, Go, take unto thee a wife of whoredoms and children of whoredoms: for the land hath committed great whoredom, departing from the Lord. Throughout the history of the nation of Israel, ever since their establishment, we donâ€™t have to read very far to see that they immediately began to rebel against the God who had chosen them to be a people unto Himself. But what exactly does that mean? What does it mean to be called â€œmy peopleâ€? Well, to many, it would seem plain and simple that God is referring to a people that belong to Him, or to those that are His children, such as the people of the nation of Israel. Leviticus 26:12 And I will walk among you, and will be your God, and ye shall be my people. But what, according to the Bible, does it mean to be called â€œmy peopleâ€? Well, in 2 Chronicles 7:14, God answers this question for us. It means to be called by His name. 2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. If we look closely, to be called â€œmy peopleâ€ does not mean that you are a child of God nor does it mean that your sins have been forgiven. It simply means that you are called by the name of God. During the Old Testament era, God chose the nation of Israel to be his people, but this never meant that they were true children of God, meaning saved from their sins and granted eternal life. Not at all. As a matter of fact, we can jump all the way to the New Testament era to see that just because a people were called by the name of God, didnâ€™t mean that they were a true people, or truly saved. John 8:41-42 Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God. 42 Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me. So, here we have the people of Israel speaking with Christ, namely the scribes and the Pharisees. We have to keep in mind that these people were of the nation of Israel and descendants of Abraham. Thus, everything that we read of regarding the nation of Israel in the Old Testament also applies to these people, including Leviticus 26:12 and 2 Chronicles 7:14 (posted above). These Pharisees which spoke with Christ, had no doubt that they were true children of God, but God is about to show us that all along (since their beginning) the nation of Israel was only ever an outward representation of the true people of God and not the actual true people of God. Here is how we can be sure. John 8:43-47 Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word. 44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. 45 And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not. 46 Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me? 47 He that is of God heareth God's words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God. Wait a minute, arenâ€™t all the people of the nation of Israel the people of God? Arenâ€™t they all called by his name? Doesnâ€™t God even call them â€œmy peopleâ€? How then can Christ possibly say that their father is not God, but the devil? How can Christ say that they are not of God? It is statements like this that cause us to look for the truth rather than just settle for passages that seem plain and simple to understand like Leviticus 26:12 (posted above). Once we search out the scriptures and look to see how all these passages find agreement (find harmony), then the conclusion which the Bible leads us to is that the nation of Israel was established to be the outward representatives of the true people of God, but they themselves, as a nation, were not the true and holy people of God. This is why they murmured against God after their great deliverance from Egypt and this is also why they immediately went after other gods, because their hearts were still wicked. The nation of Israel were only the people of God in name only, but not in truth. Whatâ€™s more is that after God ended his relationship with the nation of Israel at the time of the cross, He then established another outward representative to replace the nation of Israel as stewards of the gospel. Thus, God had established the earthly church to fill this role. The only problem is that the earthly church fell into the same trap the nation of Israel is still in, in that they also believe that they are the true people of God and certainly not merely outward representatives. But they are both ignorant of the fact that God designed the nation of Israel and the earthly church to represent one another as outward representatives of the people of God, but not the true people themselves. Acts 7:38 This is he, that was in the church in the wilderness with the angel which spake to him in the mount Sina, and with our fathers: who received the lively oracles to give unto us: The church in the wilderness is a reference to the nation of Israel back in the time of the exodus. This is the same word â€œchurchâ€ used for the establishment of the earthly church that was established by God and that was given warning to repent of her sins, soon after they were established and before it was too late. Well they, like the nation of Israel, never repented and were left desolate. But nevertheless, both, the nation of Israel and the earthly churches continue to identify themselves as the people of God, but unfortunately, it is in name only and not in truth. And spiritually, this is who God is addressing in Hosea 4:6 as â€œmy peopleâ€. Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed (perish) for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children. He is addressing all those who only outwardly identify themselves as the people of God, but are not true children because they lack understanding of the Word of God unto salvation and so perish (are destroyed). Isaiah 6:9-11 And he said, Go, and tell this people (Israel), Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not. 10 Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed. 11 Then said I, Lord, how long? And he answered, Until the cities be wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land be utterly desolate, But how can we be sure that Hosea 4:6 is not speaking about the true people of God, meaning those who are truly saved? Because those who are truly saved, we are told, will never perish. John 10:26-28 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. 27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: 28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. God is teaching us here that to perish means that one does not have eternal life, because if you did have eternal life, then you shall never perish. Thus, the Bible continues to reinforce the fact that Hosea 4:6 isnâ€™t speaking about the true people of God, but can only be speaking about those who want to call themselves the people of God, but are truly not.
