LORD, SAVE ME!
But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. – MATTHEW 14:30 KJV
Sinking time is paying time with the LORD’s servants. Peter neglected prayer at starting upon his venturous journey, but when he began to sink, his danger made him a suppliant, and his cry though late, was not too late. In pain and mental anguish, we find ourselves as naturally driven to prayer as the wreck is driven upon the shore by the waves.
The tried believers hasten to the mercy seat for safety. Heaven’s great harbor of refuge is self-prayer and the moment a storm comes on, it is wise for us to make for it with all sail. Short prayers are long enough. There were but three words in the petition which Peter gasped out, but they were sufficient for his purpose.
If our prayers had less of the tail feathers of pride and more wing, they would be all the better. Verbiage is to devotion as chaff to the wheat. Precious things lie in a small compass and all that is real prayer in many a long address might have been uttered in a petition as short as that of Peter.
Or extremities are the LORD’s opportunities. Immediately, a keen sense of danger forces an anxious cry from us; the ear of Jesus hears, and with him, ear and heart go together, and the hand does not long linger.
At the last moment, we appeal to our Master, but His swift hand makes up for our delays by instant and effectual action. Are we nearly engulfed by the boisterous waters of affliction? Let us then lift up for our souls unto our Savior, and we may rest assured that He will not suffer us to perish. When we can do nothing, Jesus can do all things. – C. H. Spurgeon (1834-1922)

The TV personality and real estate mogul announced his bid at Trump Towers. And as the history books now show, he successfully achieved his goal of elected official residing in the US White House.
Verse of the Day
This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief. -1 Timothy 1:15

This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. – JOSHUA 1:8 KJV
“Success” is a Bible Word. As the power center of the universe, Jesus is a success with a capital “S”. He was a success in the Garden of Eden when the messianic promise was given concerning the defeat of Satan’s realm. (GENESIS 3:15) He succeeded at the crucifixion and the resurrection. (1 JOHN 3:8; COLOSSIANS 2:14-15) He will succeed at the Second Coming, on the day of judgment. (PHILIPPIANS 2:10-11), and in eternity.
Serving the LORD lines a person up with the victorious cause: past, present, and future. JOSHUA 1:8, tells us the prosperous and experience good success. GOD’s standards for evaluating success are even higher than those establishment by man. The original Hebrew word translated ‘success’ in the verse is, “sakal” (saw-kal’). Besides, indicating the ability to accomplish or achieve some goal; sakal includes the possession of discretion, intelligence, prudence, wisdom, and good understanding.
We attribute success to winning athletes, popularly elected politicians, self-made millionaires, and all kinds of achievers. The Biblical principles of success are built-on faithfulness, trust, integrity, discipline, and obedience. When you and I are promised success in JOSHUA 1:8, we are assured of arriving at our destination safe and sound. We are also assured of the expertise and ability to achieve our goals. We succeed not only in reaching our objectives but also in the methods chosen to attain those high ideals.

CHANGING YOUR MIND
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. – ROMANS 12:2 KJV
The best way to change your life is to change your thinking. And the best way to change your thinking is to change your mental diet. PSALM 17:3 says, “Feed his faithfulness.” JESUS promised to lead us to find pasture. (JOHN 10:9). JEREMIAH 15:16a, says, “Your Words were found and I ate them, and Your Word was to the joy and rejoicing of my heart.
If a spiritual nutritional analyst conducted a study of what goes into your minds each day, what would be the report? What proposition of your mental food is godly and scriptural? While it’s sometimes very hard to control our thoughts, it’s not so hard to control what feeds our thoughts lives.
Improving our mental diet enriches our thinking; elevates our attitudes; and, renews our spirits. Cut out mental junk food and fill your minds with whatever is true, just, pure, lovely, and good. (PHILIPPIANS 4:8)
