John 1:12 AMP
“But to as many as did receive and welcome Him, He gave the authority (power, privilege, right) to become the children of God, that is, to those who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) His name.”
1. You’re not the master of your own destiny. . .He is.
Judges 6:15 MSG
“Gideon said to him, “Me, my master? How and with what could I ever save Israel? Look at me. My clan’s the weakest in Manasseh and I’m the runt of the litter.”
Exodus 4:10 NLT
“But Moses pleaded with the Lord, “O Lord, I’m not very good with words. I never have been, and I’m not now, even though you have spoken to me. I get tongue-tied, and my words get tangled.”
Exodus 4:11 NLT
“Then the Lord asked Moses, “Who makes a person’s mouth? Who decides whether people speak or do not speak, hear or do not hear, see or do not see? Is it not I, the Lord?”
2. Accept the fact that He wants to bless you.
First, God wants to give you a prosperous life.
John 10:10 NLT
“The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.”
John 10:10 AMP
“…I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).”
Second, God wants to bless your work.
Deuteronomy 28:12 KJV
“The LORD shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand…”
Third, God wants you to be a lender and not a borrower.
Deuteronomy 28:12 MSG
“…You will lend to many nations but you yourself won't have to take out a loan.”
Fourth, God wants to give you every good thing
Psalm 84:11 AMP
“For the Lord God is a Sun and Shield; the Lord bestows [present] grace and favor and [future] glory (honor, splendor, and heavenly bliss)! No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.”
Fifth, God wants to pour out his blessings and give you increase.
Psalm 85:12 AMP
“Yes, the Lord will give what is good, and our land will yield its increase.”
Psalm 85:12 NLT
“Yes, the Lord pours down his blessings. Our land will yield its bountiful harvest.”
Sixth, God wants to give good gifts to His children who ask.
Matthew 7:11 AMP
“If you then, evil as you are, know how to give good and advantageous gifts to your children, how much more will your Father Who is in heaven [perfect as He is] give good and advantageous things to those who keep on asking Him!”
Seventh, God wants to bless us with everything we need to enjoy life.
1Timothy 6:17-19 MSG
“Tell those rich in this world's wealth to quit being so full of themselves and so obsessed with money, which is here today and gone tomorrow. Tell them to go after God, who piles on all the riches we could ever manage—to do good, to be rich in helping others, to be extravagantly generous. If they do that, they'll build a treasury that will last, gaining life that is truly life.”
3. Understand that seedtime and harvest will always be around.
Genesis 8:22 KJV
“While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.”
Galatians 6:7 AMP
“Be not deceived [fooled]; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.”
Genesis 1:11 NLT
“. . . these seeds will then produce the kinds of plants and trees from which they came.”
Job 4:8 KJV
“Even as I have seen, they that plow iniquity, and sow wickedness, reap the same.”
The seed you plant always determines the kind of harvest you receive.
4. You must sow before you will ever receive.
Ecclesiastes 11:4 AMP
“He who observes the wind [and waits for all conditions to be favorable] will not sow, and he who regards the clouds will not reap.”
Ecclesiastes 11:4 TLB
“If you wait for perfect conditions, you’ll never get anything done.”
5. Receiving is not an obligation. . .it’s a reward.
Hebrews 11:6 KJV
“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”
Jeremiah 17:10 NLT
“But I, the Lord, search all hearts and examine secret motives. I give all people their due rewards, according to what their actions deserve.”
6. Learn to receive your harvest.
Luke 6:38 NIV
“Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."
Luke 6:38 NLT
“The amount you give will determine the amount you get back.”
Proverbs 23:17-19 NLT
“Don’t envy sinners, but always continue to fear the Lord. You will be rewarded for this; your hope will not be disappointed. My child, listen and be wise: Keep your heart on the right course.”
The scripture doesn’t say “you might be,” or “you could be” or “you should be.” it says you WILL BE REWARDED.
Romans 8:25 NLT
“But if we look forward to something we don’t yet have, we must wait patiently and confidently.”
7. Receiving is a flow.
1 Peter 3:8 NLT
“Summing up: Be agreeable, be sympathetic, be loving, be compassionate, be humble. That goes for all of you, no exceptions. No retaliation. No sharp-tongued sarcasm. Instead, bless—that's your job, to bless. You'll be a blessing and also get a blessing.
1 Peter 3:9-12 NLT
“Don’t repay evil for evil. Don’t retaliate with insults when people insult you. Instead, pay them back with a blessing. That is what God has called you to do, and he will grant you his blessing. 10 For the Scriptures say, “If you want to enjoy life and see many happy days, keep your tongue from speaking evil and your lips from telling lies. 11 Turn away from evil and do good. Search for peace, and work to maintain it. 12 The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right, and his ears are open to their prayers.”
First, say nothing evil or hurtful.
Ephesians 4:29 AMP
“Let no foul or polluting language, nor evil word nor unwholesome or worthless talk [ever] come out of your mouth, but only such [speech] as is good and beneficial to the spiritual progress of others, as is fitting to the need and the occasion, that it may be a blessing and give grace (God's favor) to those who hear it.”
Second, snub evil.
Psalm 4:4 AMP
“Be angry [or stand in awe] and sin not; commune with your own hearts upon your beds and be silent (sorry for the things you say in your hearts). Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]!”
Third, cultivate good.
Psalm 34:14 NIV
“Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.”
Fourth, pursue peace for all you’re worth.
2 Timothy 2:22 NLT
“Run from anything that stimulates youthful lusts. Instead, pursue righteous living, faithfulness, love, and peace. Enjoy the companionship of those who call on the Lord with pure hearts.”
Fifth, know that God will approve.
Romans 14:18 NLT
“If you serve Christ with this attitude, you will please God, and others will approve of you, too.”
Sixth, listen to what He Asks.
Deuteronomy 28:12-13 MSG
“God will throw open the doors of his sky vaults and pour rain on your land on schedule and bless the work you take in hand. You will lend to many nations but you yourself won't have to take out a loan. God will make you the head, not the tail; you'll always be the top dog, never the bottom dog, as you obediently listen to and diligently keep the commands of God, your God, that I am commanding you today.”
Seventh, get the job done and do it well.
Galatians 6:4 NLT
“Pay careful attention to your own work, for then you will get the satisfaction of a job well done, and you won’t need to compare yourself to anyone else.”
1 Peter 3:8 NLT
“. . .Summing up: . . .bless—that's your job, to bless. You'll be a blessing and also get a blessing. . .”

Proverbs 9:11 AMPC

6. Problem Solving
# 1 What you think about a problem will determine whether or not. . .you believe you can solve it.
# 2 You must recognize you can’t solve your problems … but God can.
Psalm 34:19 NCV
“People who do what is right may have many problems, but the Lord will solve them all.”

The only accurate way to understand ourselves is by what God is and by what he does for us, not by what we are and what we do for him.”

“Saul had his own military clothes and armor put on David, and he gave David a bronze helmet to wear. David strapped on a sword and tried to walk around, but he was not used to wearing those things. "I can't move with all this stuff on," David said. "I'm just not used to it."

“And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee.”
Isaiah 53:4-5 AMPC
“Surely He has borne our griefs (sicknesses) and carried our sorrows (pains); yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.”
1 John 5:14-15 KJV
“Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.”

26 Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the very foundations of the prison were shaken; and at once all the doors were opened and everyone’s shackles were unfastened.
27 When the jailer, startled out of his sleep, saw that the prison doors were open, he drew his sword and was on the point of killing himself, because he supposed that the prisoners had escaped.
28 But Paul shouted, Do not harm yourself, for we are all here!
29 Then [the jailer] called for lights and rushed in, and tremblingandterrified he fell down before Paul and Silas.
30 And he brought them out [of the dungeon] and said, Men, what is it necessary for me to do that I may be saved.
5. Reachers seek answers
Luke 19:2-4 AMPC
“And there was a man called Zacchaeus, a chief tax collector, and [he was] rich. And he was trying to see Jesus, which One He was, but he could not on account of the crowd, because he was small in stature. Luke 19:8 AMPC

“And he, casting away his garment, rose and came to Jesus. . .And Jesus answered and said unto him, What will thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight.
“And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way: thy faith made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus in the way.”
7. Reach out for your reward
Philippians 3:13 KJV
“Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before.”
Philippians 3:14 AMPC

Friends, don't get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I've got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward—to Jesus. I'm off and running, and I'm not turning back.”
