How to Get Saved

What Does It Mean to Be Saved?

Paul in Acts 16:30-31 tells us, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

It's that simple. Really.

Why Do We Need to Be Saved?

Romans 3:23 tells us, All have sinned and come short of the Glory of God.

Romans 6:23 tells us, The wages of sin is death!

2 Peter 3:9 reveals God's Divine Wish that not any should perish, but that all should come unto repentance.

How Did God Provide for Our Salvation?

We read in John 3:16, And God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes on Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.

Jesus paid the price for us to receive our Salvation. Revelation 22:17 says everyone is invited. Whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

What Do We Need to Do?

Man cannot save himself. However, what's impossible with man is possible with God.

Romans 10:9-10 gives us the process of Salvation. If you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved. For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.

We simply accept who Jesus is (the Son of God) and what He has done (taken our place on Calvary).

How Can I Communicate My Change of Heart to God?

It's easy.

Read this prayer out loud. God will hear you. He will see your sincere heart, and His gift of Salvation will become yours.

Dear Father in heaven, I realize I need You in my life.

I ask that You wash me clean from my wrongdoing and save my soul.

I understand that Your Salvation can come only through Your Son, Jesus Christ, and His sacrifice on the Cross at Calvary.

I accept Jesus into my heart to live, change, and purify me day by day.

As a testament of my desire, I confess with my mouth that Jesus is my Lord and I believe in my heart that God raised Jesus from the dead.

Your promise is that everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. I have called upon Your name, and I believe that Salvation is mine.

Is That All There Is to It?

You are a new creation in Christ. As such, Jesus lives in you, and your actions should reveal the new you.

Satan is the enemy of your soul, and he will try to lead you astray. However, through Christ, you can overcome the tricks of the devil.

How Can I Become a Successful Christian?

There are three ways to successfully position Christ as the number-one focus in your life.

Study your Bible daily. Read a daily passage from the Word. Discover study books by Christian teachers. Immerse yourself in your free time in the Truth of God's Word.

Daily prayer is essential. Include sincere thanksgiving to God, daily conversation with Him about your life, and a petition of your important needs.

Become baptized with the Holy Spirit. Acts 1:4 tells us to wait for the Promise of the Father. Acts 1:5 clarifies this as being baptized with the Holy Spirit.
